Privacy policy

nordi is an independent daily dispatch of Danish tech, cyber, jobs and events, written for internationals in Denmark. This page explains, in plain English, what personal data we handle, why, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@readnordi.dk.

Who is responsible for your data

nordi (readnordi.dk) is the data controller for the information described below. You can reach us about anything privacy-related at hello@readnordi.dk.

What we collect

Only what you choose to give us when you subscribe to the newsletter:

We do not ask for anything else, and we do not build profiles on you. When you simply visit the site, our host may process basic technical data (such as your IP address) in server logs to keep the site running and secure — this is standard for any website and isn't used to identify you.

Why we can use it (lawful basis)

We rely on your consent. You give it by entering your email and ticking the consent box, and we confirm it with a double opt-in email before adding you. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see below), and doing so is as easy as giving it.

Who else touches your data

We keep the list of processors short and name them plainly:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data, and we don't share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to delete your data entirely at hello@readnordi.dk. Once you unsubscribe or request deletion, we remove your details from our active list.

Cookies and analytics

nordi uses no advertising or tracking cookies, and there's no cookie banner because there's nothing to consent to.

To see roughly how many people visit and which pages they read, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It's privacy-first by design: it sets no cookies, doesn't read or write anything on your device, doesn't use your IP address to identify you, and doesn't track you across other websites. It only reports aggregate numbers — page views and general performance — so we can tell whether nordi is useful. We can't single you out from it, and we don't try to.

Links to other sites

Each story links out to its original source. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we don't control — this policy only covers nordi.

Your rights under GDPR

You can, at any time:

To exercise any of these, email hello@readnordi.dk. If you believe we've mishandled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and move the "last updated" date at the top. Meaningful changes for existing subscribers will be flagged by email.
